Sami Reindeer Camp Dinner with Chance of Northern Lights

4 時間

簡単

An exciting reindeer-themed tour from Tromsø including a traditional Sami dinner, reindeer feeding and stories
Visit a reindeer farm departing Tromsø

We pick you in Tromsø at 5.45pm and take you aboard our comfortable bus to the Sami reindeer farm, a 30-minute scenic drive from Tromsø city centre. This camp is owned by a traditional Sami reindeer herding family who has been living and working with reindeer for many generations. You will get to feed some of the 300 reindeer at the camp! They are hungry and waiting for you!

A chance to see the Northern Lights

While you are out with the reindeer, don’t forget to look up at the sky and maybe see aurora borealis! The reindeer camp offers a really good spot to observe the beautiful Northern Lights. However, this reindeer tour is not a Northern Light chase so we cannot guarantee you will see the Northern Lights (it’s a natural phenomenon).

Try traditional Sami reindeer food

Gather around the fire inside a warm candlelit gamme (traditional Sami hut) where we will serve you a three-course dinner: for starter, a cold smoked salmon salad; for main course, bidos* (traditional reindeer stew) with Sami bread; and for dessert, chocolate cake with blueberries.

*vegetarian option possible (tomato-based soup)

Listen to Sami stories

After dinner, you will be invited into a lávvu (Sami herdsmen’s tent). Stay warm around the fire and discover more about the Sami people. Your Sami guide will tell you facts about Sami reindeer herders and Sami culture in general. This cultural experience also includes a joik performance (traditional Sami song).
