Northern Norway’s Tromsø is one of the world’s best bases for spectacular whale watching. October through January is the best period for whale watching because the sea mammals migrate to the waters here in search of herring along Tromsø’s beautiful coast. We usually see Humpback whales and Orcas frolicking in the feeding grounds. Whales are very social animals, so don’t be surprised if they put on a little show for you.
